Audrey Hepburn once said, “Happiest girls are the prettiest.”
What makes us happy? More so, what makes us feel good about ourselves? For some the answer may be our careers or our family and friendships or even the special bonds we share with our pets. Unfortunately, there are many of us out there who feel incomplete and not quite there yet in that comfortable happy place. We couldn’t agree with the fashion icon more that happiness is an important quality to have and the positivity will put you in the right direction by attracting others that are also in great spirits.
One fun, positive and easy way to get on track to happiness and confidence can be through a fresh new look. We all know the saying that when you look great you will feel great, leading us to do well and have success in all areas of life.
Pampering is a key confidence booster and such a luxury at the same time. Treat yourself! Put together a monthly pampering budget. This can go hand in hand with your clothing budgets. We all have an idea of what we spend at the grocery store and on other essentials; make yourself one of these essentials. There’s no reason to feel guilty about this if we stay within a budget and are doing it with the goal of happiness and self-confidence.
A little bit of pampering can go a long way. Feeling drab? A fresh trim and a blow out with a make up application can do wonders. It’s always nice to have someone teach you to create new looks through different make up techniques. Sometimes a new winged eye or a bold lip may just take your look from good to great! There are blow dry bars popping up all over the country. This is a great way to reinvent your look without doing anything drastic. From braids to sleek ponytails to classic top knots, you can easily create new fresh looks through your hairstyles.
A manicure and pedicure is such an easy way to pamper yourself at such a small fortune look. Whether you choose to do a pop of color, a classic French manicure or funky nail art, you will feel groomed and very pretty once complete.
Do it yourself facemasks, hair masks and more. Through Pinterest and other sites there are endless affordable ways to pamper yourself at home. Coconut oil has been all the rage lately and can be used for a number of pampering recipes. Have your girlfriends over and create your own mini spa day!
Shopping on a budget? No problem! Go shopping with a friend or someone you trust. Identify what body type you are and educate yourself what works best on you. Find clothing that highlights your best assets in the colors that look best on you. Buy interchangeable pieces that can be worn in different ways and take you from day into evening to cut costs. Let accessories pop and show off your personality. Just a small stylist tip: Write down a list of exactly what you have in mind or what you need before you go shopping so you prevent getting sidetracked and purchasing things that will just live lonely in the back of your closet. Look in your closet at the pieces you love and make you feel amazing and look for pieces that are a similar cut or style. After all, find things you love and your excited to wear that make you feel wonderful.
Confidence is so much more important than we know. We walk, talk and act differently when we are confident and feel amazing in our own skin. Let a fresh new look lead you to a fresh new attitude.
